CALL 14-2017-1 - Researcher position at the Communication Systems Division – Statistical Inference for Communications and Positioning Department

The Communication Systems Division of the CTTC is searching for interested candidates in a Researcher position for its Statistical Inference for Communications and Positioning Department.

The candidate must hold a Ph.D. degree in telecommunications, electrical engineering or related disciplines, should have proven experience in the field of signal processing applied to communication and positioning systems, be motivated and team player. A good publication track is highly appreciated. The candidate is expected to have a strong background in the following specialization areas of interest: Bayesian estimation, synchronization and tracking, smart antennas, and software-defined radio. Proficiency in C++, Matlab and Python is a plus. The applicant is expected to carry out innovative research and effective project management with emphasis on GNSS technology. The researcher will contribute to the development and maintenance of an experimental platform (testbed) related to the scope of the Department with the aim to validate research on the various aspects of GNSS receivers and related technologies and, importantly, to attract funding.


Applicants for Researcher positions must hold a Ph.D. degree in telecommunications, computer science, electrical engineering, or related fields; be capable of conduct independent research and be highly motivated to work in a collaborative environment; have track publication record and capacity of attracting competitive funds and interact with researchers as well as technology transfer staff. Research and industrial work experience, management and participation in international and national R&D projects, elaboration of project proposals and experience with startups, is all highly appreciated.


The position is permanent. The salary will be determined according to qualifications, work experience and budget availability.
