CALL 22-2018-1 - Researcher position at the Communication Systems Division – Advanced Signal and Information Processing Department

The Communications Systems Division of the CTTC is searching for interested candidates in a Researcher position in its Advanced Signal and Information Processing department, to work on cutting-edge technologies for the physical layer of novel communication systems.

 The ASIP Department conducts fundamental and applied research on signal processing and communications, including algorithmic development, theoretical analysis and hardware development. For more information about the department, please refer to The candidate should have demonstrable experience in embedded systems, and be proficient in C++ and Matlab. Knowledge of Python is highly appreciated. Skills in signal processing, communication theory or other PHY related algorithms, and their applications to modern cellular systems, are required. The researcher will contribute to the development and maintenance of software defined radio experimental platforms (testbeds) related to the scope of the Department with the aim to validate research on the various aspects of communication systems and related technologies and, importantly, to attract funding. The applicant is expected to carry out innovative research, with emphasis on the physical layer of standardized mobile communication systems. Knowledge and experience in 5G, VHDL and FPGA design and development is a plus.


 Applicants must hold at least a MsC degree in telecommunications, computer science, electrical engineering, or related fields; be highly motivated and a team player, whilts must show capabilities to lead and carry out original independent work. A PhD degree, research and industrial work experience, participation in the development of testbeds and/or demonstration platforms,  participation in international and national R&D projects and of research grant proposals such as EC funded programs, is highly appreciated.


The position is temporary (investigador interino, according to the Spanish national law), with perspective to become permanent. The salary will be determined according to qualifications, work experience and budget availability.
