CALL 5-2020-1 - Researcher position in Communication Network Division – Mobile Networks Department

The Communication Networks Division of CTTC invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher position in its Mobile Networks Department. The successful candidate would join a dynamic and international research group to carry out research to bring intelligence and automation in mobile networks through blockchain and artificial intelligence technologies, with special emphasis in the area of spectrum management for 6G.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

We are looking for a researcher with background in one or more of the following areas: blockchain, machine learning, deep learning, artificial intelligence for communications and networking, performance evaluation of 5G and beyond wireless networks, capacity analysis methods for complex wireless networks. Knowledge of 3GPP and IEEE mobile networks will be positively evaluated.

Interested candidates must be strongly motivated, hold a PhD. degree at the moment of the incorporation, in the areas of telecommunications, electrical engineering, computer science, or related area.

Successful candidates should demonstrate a strong publication record, should have the capacity of carrying out innovative research, should have strong programming skills, strong knowledge of wireless communications and networks, strong oral and written English communication skills.

CONDITIONS

The position is associated to an internal project for fundamental research, funded by CTTC, of the duration of 24 months. Depending on the applicable labor law, budget availability and the performance of the selected candidate, the contract may be extended beyond the duration of this specific project.

The salary will be in the range of 34-37 k€ (gross per year). Professional category and salary will be determined according to qualifications and work experience.
