CALL 7-2019-1 - Researcher position in the Geomatics Division – Geodesy and Navigation Department

The Geomatics Division of the CTTC is searching for interested candidates in a Researcher position in its Geodesy and Navigation Department. The candidate should have proven work experience either as geomatics laboratory technician and/or positioning systems developer. The applicant is expected to have a strong background in sensor integration and positioning technologies, including at least one of the following aspects:

(i) sensors HW/SW integration.

(ii) development of software applications based on positioning technology.

The applicant is expected to be motivated and team player and to carry out innovative research. The candidate is expected to contribute to the main research areas of the two Departments of the Geomatics Division. The applicant is expected to have project management leadership and to carry out competitive project proposal preparation.


Applicants for this position must hold a degree in geomatics or related disciplines (electronic engineering, telecommunication engineering, physics, geophysics, mathematics, computer science, etc.). Applicants are expected to have track record and capacity of carrying out experimental work and interact with researchers as well as technology transfer staff. They are expected to be very motivated, work independently while, at the same time, cooperating with the Geomatics’ team. Advanced programming skills (C/C++ or Java) are required. Some expertise with GNU/Linux and embedded systems programming is required. Knowledge of ROS system is appreciated. Electronic designs (i.e. Altium SW) and hardware integration skills are appreciable. Full professional proficiency in English is required. Catalan and Spanish will be appreciated. Capability in attracting funds, including experience in writing research proposals, participating in national and international R&D projects is appreciated.


The position is temporary (investigador interino, according to the Spanish national law), with perspective to become permanent. The salary will be determined according to qualifications, work experience and budget availability.
