The Communication Technologies Division of the CTTC is searching for interested candidates in a Researcher position in its Smart Energy Efficient Communication Technologies (SMARTECH) Department. For more information about the Department please refer to

The candidate must hold a Ph.D. degree in telecommunications, electrical engineering or related disciplines, and should have proven work experience in the area of wireless technologies and networks. The candidate is expected to have a solid background in a broad range of technologies and standards, e.g., cellular mobile communication systems (LTE/LTE-A), WiFi networks and sensor networks. In particular, candidates are asked to have an excellent publications record (i.e. IEEE Transactions and IEEE Magazines) demonstrating proven experience in energy-related concepts in telecommunications, including energy-aware protocol design, energy efficient wireless communications and energy harvesting techniques. The applicant is expected to carry out innovative research, publication of results in high impact scientific journals related to the field, R&D project reporting, and competitive R&D project proposal preparation for different national and international calls.


Applicants for Researcher positions must hold a Ph.D. degree in telecommunications, computer science, electrical engineering, or related fields; be capable of conducting independent research and be highly motivated to work in a collaborative environment; have track record and capacity of interacting with other researchers. Work experience in international and national R&D projects will be highly appreciated.


 The position is permanent. The rank and gross salary, in the range 38,000-42,000€/year, will be determined according to qualifications, work experience and budget availability.
