The Communication Systems Division of the CTTC is searching for interested candidates in a Research Assistant position in its Array & Multi-Sensor Processing Department. For more information about the Department please refer to http://systems.cttc.es/array-multi-sensor-processing/.
We offer a position in a research-oriented team, exploring new technologies in the field of Optical-wireless convergence and efficient visible light communications for the TERESA project (National-funded project TEC2017-90093-C3-1-R). The researcher will contribute to the development of the project and the dissemination of scientific outcomes. Interaction with researchers as well as technology transfer staff is expected. The work will encompass both theoretical and experimental activities related with Visual Light Communications.
The candidate must have in-depth knowledge and experience in signal processing for communications, optical wireless communications (PHY layer), optimization techniques, multi-antenna systems, satellite communications(*).
- Outstanding oral and writing English skills
- Excellent publication record in top scientific peer-reviewed journals (e.g., IEEE Transactions and Magazines)
- Good knowledge of matlab.
- Knowledge on signal processing concepts, as specified in (*), and related (low-level) technologies.
- Strong motivation and desire to learn and explore new technologies.
- Good analysis, problem solving, organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, and ability to work in an international team
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Applicants must hold an PhD. Engineering degree in Telecommunications, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science or a closely related field. Experience in R&D or industrial projects carried out in the context of research institutions or industry is appreciated.
A full-time fixed term contract of one year duration is offered, linked to a National Research project to which the candidate will be assigned. The salary will be determined according to qualifications and work experience. The contract may be extended depending on the availability of research funds from other research funded projects.
