CALL 2-2018-1 - PhD position in the Geomatics Division – Remote Sensing Department
The Geomatics Division of the CTTC is searching for candidates interested in a PhD position in its Remote Sensing Department. The PhD work will be related to an ongoing research project funded by the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness: DEMOS, “Deformation monitoring using Sentinel-1 data” (Ref: CGL2017-83704-P). The project will focus on two main research lines based on interferometric SAR data: deformation monitoring and water vapour mapping.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Applicants for this position must hold a degree in geomatics or related disciplines (engineering, physics, geophysics, mathematics, computer science, etc.). They are expected to be very motivated for carrying out a PhD study, work independently while, at the same time, cooperating with the Geomatics’ team. Good programming skills are required. Full professional proficiency in English is required. Catalan and Spanish are appreciated.
The duration of the scholarship will be 3 years. The indicative period is from January 2019 to December 2021.
The scholarship will be provided by the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness (MINECO), through the “Ayudas para contratos predoctorales para la formación de doctores”.
