The Communication Systems Division opens the application period for one Post Doctoral Position at the Statistical Inference for Communications and Positioning Department.
The position involves carrying out innovative research, with emphasis on estimation techniques and algorithms for nonlinear problems. The researcher will contribute to the development of a public-funded project and the dissemination of scientific outcomes. Interaction with researchers as well as technology transfer staff is expected. The work will encompass both theoretical and experimental activities to advance in Bayesian computational tools, with emphasis on filtering and machine learning methods.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Applicants for this position must hold a Ph.D. degree in telecommunications, computer science, electrical engineering, or related fields; be very motivated, work independently whilst closely cooperate with the Department team. Candidates must be able to proof their track record and capacity of carrying out research and experimental work. Preference will be given to applicants with solid background in the areas of Bayesian estimation and digital signal processing for communications and positioning applications. Research and industrial work experience, participation in international and national R&D projects, and experience with startups, is all highly appreciated.
The position and the extension duration of the contract (up to 24 months) are associated to a public-funded research project. The salary will be determined according to qualifications, work experience and budget availability.
