CALL 2-2020-1 - Researcher position in Communication Networks Division –Mobile Networks Department

The Communication Networks Division of the CTTC is searching for interested candidates in a research position in its Mobile Networks Department.

We are looking for a researcher interested in and capable of designing and developing experimental platforms for 5G networks and carrying out systems research over them.


Interested researchers must be strongly motivated, hold a Ph.D. degree in telecommunications, electrical engineering, computer science, or related area, have experience in software development, and have the capacity of carrying out collaborative innovative research.

Candidates will be evaluated according to their expertise/track record on the following topics:

  • Application of SDN and NFV architectural principles to communication networks
  • Software development
  • Publication record
  • Cellular technologies
  • Linux system administration
  • WiFi networks
  • Implementation of system level simulators and real-time emulators, and
  • Experimental prototyping

The first three being the main ones.


The contract will be associated to the Spanish MINECO 5G-REFINE research project (TEC2017-88373-R), which lasts until December 31, 2020 and a likely extension until mid 2021. The salary would be in the range 30000-35000 euros/year (gross).
