Call 9-2016-1 - Researcher position in Communication Systems Division – Advanced Signal and Information Processing Department
The Communication Systems Division of the CTTC is searching for interested candidates in a Researcher position in its Advanced Signal and Information Processing Department.
The candidate must hold a Ph.D. degree in telecommunications, electrical engineering or related disciplines, should have proven work experience in the area of wireless communications systems. The candidate is expected to have a strong background on communications and optimization theory and its applications to the following problems of current interest: resource allocation in wireless networks; energy harvesting; design of energy management and caching policies for 5G networks; content centric mobile networks; content distribution strategies and fundamental limits of caching. Demonstrated capability of exploiting similar tools in other technological areas, such as smart grid, will be highly appreciated. Advaced knowledge in physical layer and RRM aspects for LTE and 5G will be an added value. The applicant is expected to carry out innovative research, effective project management leadership and competitive project proposal preparation.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Applicants for Researcher positions must hold a Ph.D. degree in telecommunications, computer science, electrical engineering, or related fields; be capable of conduct independent research and be highly motivated to work in a collaborative environment; have track record and capacity of attracting competitive funds and interact with researchers as well as technology transfer staff. Research and industrial work experience, participation in international and national R&D projects is all highly appreciated.
The position is permanent. The salary will be determined according to qualifications, work experience and budget availability.
