Bio

Marcin Chochol (Olkusz, 1981) derives from Poland. He graduated from the Faculty of Electronics of Wroclaw University of Technology, Poland in 2005 where he awarded a Master of Science degree in the field of electronics and telecommunications with specialization in telecommunications. His master thesis has been finally realized at Polish Academy of Sciences in Wroclaw, Poland and involved problems of the laser spectroscopy and the spectroscopy of excited states.

During his almost 3 years of employment he was a Research Assistant in both Wroclaw University of Technology and National Institute of Telecommunications in Warsaw in the discipline of nanomaterials engineering and a fiber equipment respectively. Additionally he was connected with a private optoelectronics and a fiber-telecommunication sector along with a work at research team in Military Communication Institute in Zegrze, Poland during last months.

He has joined to the CTTC within the PhD studies and he is currently working in the Optical Networking Group by the guidance of the Senior Research Associate, Raül Muñoz, PhD.

His current main areas of interests include: new opto-telecommunication systems, nonlinear optics and dynamically reconfigurable optical networks along with the problems of optical performance monitoring in dynamic circuit switched networks.
