Bio

Nicola Baldo was born in Rovigo, Italy, in 1981. He received his Laurea (BE) and Laurea Specialistica (ME) degree in Telecommunications Engineering in 2003 and 2005, respectively, from the University of Ferrara, Italy, and the PhD in Information Engineering from the University of Padova, Italy, in 2009. In summer 2003 he was an internship student at the Ericsson Eurolab Deutschland, Aachen, Germany, working on Wireless Multimedia Communications. In 2005 he was on leave at the STMicroelectronics Advanced System Technology group, Agrate Brianza (MI), Italy, working on Cross-layer Optimization for VoIP over Wireless LAN. In 2008 he was on leave at the Calit2 department, University of California, San Diego, USA, working on Cognitive Networks and Software Defined Radio. Since February 2009 he is a post-doc researcher at the Centre Tecnològic de Telecomunicacions de Catalunya, Barcelona, Spain. His research interests include Cognitive Radio and Networks, Cross-layer Optimization, Multimedia Communications and Network Simulation Tools.
