Ankush Mahajan received Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Electronic and Communication Engineering from SVITS Indore and Indian Institute of Technology (ISM), Dhanbad, India respectively. After completion of his Master’s degree, he joined Centre of Excellence group at Sterlite Tech Limited, Aurangabad, India. In Sterlite Tech, he was associated with long haul transmission system and access network research groups.
In September 2018, he joined CTTC as an Early Stage Researcher (ESR-2) for ONFIRE (Future Optical Networks for Innovation, Research and Experimentation) project under the framework of the Horizon 2020 Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions. In ONFIRE, he is particularly working on advance Machine Learning algorithms to estimate end-to-end Quality of Service (QoS) for efficient resource utilization. His project is focused on how available monitored physical layer information can be collected and used by the corresponding machine learning based optimization strategies in disaggregated optical networks for QoS estimation. These ML models for QoS estimation will be a part of feasible cognitive architecture operating on the top of a SDN controlled / orchestrated infrastructure.
As a part of ONFIRE project, he is also pursuing his PhD degree at Signal Theory and Communication Engineering Department of Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), Barcelona.
