Arash Shahmansoori received the BSc degree (with honors) in bioelectric engineering from Tehran Polytechnic, Tehran, Iran in 2010, the MSc degree (with excellent thesis) in signal processing from Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Trondheim, Norway, in 2012, and the PhD degree in electronic and telecommunications engineering (with the highest mark) from Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona (UAB), Barcelona, Spain, in 2017.
From 2010-2013, he worked on different projects in different fields including acoustic signal processing, non-uniform sampling, filter banks that led to the publication of several journal papers. Dr. Shahmansoori was the top student during his BSc and MSc and was awarded the opportunity to continue two topics simultaneously in telecommunications engineering and bioelectric engineering. He wrote the best MSc thesis with the highest mark on the novel solutions for reconstruction and estimation techniques for non-uniform sampling with hybrid filter banks during his MSc at Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU).
Since 2013, he worked as a research assistant in electronic and telecommunications engineering at Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona (UAB) where he completed his PhD under the prestigious Marie Curie funding. His PhD dissertation led to novel solutions for joint localization and communication for time-varying channels. During his PhD, he developed novel solutions for localization in 5G systems using massive MIMO systems in the millimeter wave frequencies. From 2017, he was working as a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Electronics and Telecommunications of Rennes (IETR) of the University of Rennes 1, France. From 2019, he worked as a research assistant in Mitsubishi electric R& D center, Rennes, France. In 2020, he joined the Machine-to-Machine Communications Department at the Centre Tecnologic de Telecomunicacions de Catalunya (CTTC) where he is currently working as a researcher. His research interests include advanced Machine/Deep learning Techniques applied in wireless communications.
Dr. Shahmansoori was the author of several journal and conference papers in signal processing and telecommunication engineering. He was a visiting researcher at Chalmers university of technology during his PhD studies where he completed different projects in the fields of OFDM wireless network localization and 5G. He is a regular reviewer of IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications, IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, IEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Signal Processing, IEEE Signal Processing Letters, IEEE Communications Letters, IEEE Wireless Communications Letters, and EURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing.
