Oriol Monserrat holds a degree in Mathematics from the University of Barcelona (2004) and a PhD in Aerospace Science Technology from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (2012). Between 2003 and 2013 he worked as a Researcher Assistant first (2003-2006) and Researcher (2006-2014) at the Active Remote Sensing Unit of the Institute of Geomatics (IG). During these years, his main research interest have been focused on the development of new algorithms for the exploitation of data coming from remote sensing sensors, with emphasis on SAR and Laser sensors, and mainly for the application of deformation measurement and analysis. Along this period, he has participated in different research projects both at national and international level like for example FP6 and FP7 EU projects like GALAHAD, SUBCOAST, ESA projects like TERRAFIRMA and PSIC4. Since January 2014 he works as a senior researcher at the Remote Sensing Department of the CTTC. His research is focused on the development of new tools for the processing and analysis of spaceborne, airborne and ground-based remote sensing data and the development of scientific and technical applications using active sensors.
