The objective of the EnergyIoT project is to analyze, evaluate and compare the energy consumption of three wireless cellular communication technologies (GSM, NB-IoT and THINGSTREAM) using commercial cellular communication modems. THINGSTREAM is a cellular technology that leverages the GSM signaling channel for sending data through USSD (Unstructured Supplementary Service Data) messages.

The EnergyIoT project has been partially funded by the agency for business competitiveness (ACCIÓ) of the Generalitat de Catalunya with a Cupó d’Innovació (expedient number BOIN18-1-0059).
