EGEA is a research project lead by the former Institut de Geomàtica (IG), funded by AGAUR (Agència de Gestió d’Ajuts Universitaris i de Recerca) in the framework of “grants to stimulate the research collaborations and development of transnational actions (R+D) between Catalonia and other regions or countries with strategic interest for Catalonia“(CONES 2010), reference 2010 CONE3-00016. With the support of the Connect-EU Programme of the Government of Catalonia (DIUE Department).
The project is coordinated by the former Institut de Geomàtica (IG, Catalonia) and, the other participants are: Dipartimento di Ingegneria Strutturale e Geotecnica – DISTR – of Politecnico di Torino (PoliTo, Italy) and the Laboratorio di Geomatica del Dipartimento di Ingegneria Meccanica e Civile – DIMeC – of the Università degli Studi di Modena e Reggio Emilia (UniMoRe, Italy).
The main objective of EGEA is to generate a consolidated core based on three research groups. Specifically, the project has different types of activities: research in the field of the terrain and infrastructures deformations; search of regional, national and European funding programs.
